Let’s dive into the hierarchy of Kizuki’s with this list of top 17 Demon slayer demon ranked from weakest to strongest including former members.

Demon slayer has one of the best and most popular villain groups in anime. Known as twelve moons, these are the strongest demons in the story of kimetsu no yaiba.

Some of these twelve kizuki’s have been living for more then hundreds of years and have killed numbers of demon slayers and hashiras.

In this article we will see and analyse the power and abilities of all the moons and will try to rank twelve kizuki by their blood demon arts. We,ll rank all the original and previous twelve kizuki’s based on their blood demon art and abilities.

Kyogai (Former Lower Moon 6)

Kyogai was the first kizuki we encountered in the series. He was the drum house demon who kidnaped the kid with marichi blood. Kyogai was the lower moon 6 but he was kicked out from twelve moon by muzan. According to muzan kyogai has reached his limit and will not grow stronger then as he is. Later he was killed by tanjiro kamado. 

Hairo (Former Lower moon 2)

Hario was the former lower moon 2. He appeared in demon slayer spin off manga fire and water. He was looking for Vangance from Rangoku’s father because he once cornered and defeated him but didn’t killed him.

Because of the killings he was doing, rangoku was sent to kill him. Once hairo learned that rangoku is the son of Shinjuro he decided to kill him to take revenge but was eventually killed by rangoku. And because of killing hairo rangoku was promoted to hashira. 

Ubume (Former Lower Moon 1)

Yau may have never heard of her name before but Ubume was the previous lower moon 1. Not much is known about her personality or appearance except that she was a female but she was the one who killed Masachika sanemi’s friend and was later killed by sanemi sinazugawa. After killing lower moon 1 Ubume, sanemi was promoted to a hashira. 

Kamanue (Lower Moon 6)

Not much is known about kamanue he became the new lower moon 6 after kyogai was kicked out of twelve kizuki. Kamanue was killed by muzan in lower moon meating. 

Rui (Lower Moon 5)

Rui was the lower moon 5 and the main antagonist of mount natagumo arc. He wanted a family bond so hecreated a fake demon family and was living in mount nagatomo. When demon slayercorps got information about him they sent many slayers to kill him but all of them were killed by Rui.

Later tanjiro, zenitsu, and inosuke were sent to the mountain and there tanjiro encounters Rui lower moon 5. The air was thick with tension as Tanjiro came face to face with the sadistic Rui. ‘Finally, fresh blood!’ cackled Rui, his thread-like veins twitching in anticipation. After a deadly battle and with the help of nezuko and his father’s memory tanjiro was able to cut Rui’s head.

But Rui didn’t die as he seveared his head himself before tanjiro could. Then he was about to kill tanjiro when giyu shows up and decapitates Rui like it’s nothing.

Mukago (Lower Moon 4)

Not much is known about Mukago, except that she was the lower moon 4. She first appeared in lower moon meating and was killed by Muzan.

Wakuraba (Lower Moon 3)

We first see Wakuraba in infinity castle during the lower moon meating and was killed by muzan there. Nothing much is known about Wakuraba.

Rokuro (Lower Moon 2)

Lower Kizuki 2, Rokuro was also first appeared in infinity castle at lower moon meeting and was killed there by Kibutsuji muzan.

Enmu (Lower Moon 1)

Enmu the lower moon 1 was the strongest lower moon. He first appeared in infinity castle during the lower moon meeting. Enmu was the only one who was not killed by Muzan during that meeting. 

Muzan assigned Enmu the task of killing a hashira and tanjiro in order to gain more power. Enmu took control of a train in order to attract demon slayer corps so that they can send a hashira and he can kill him.

Rengoku Kyojuro was sent to the train in order to kill enmu. Tanjiro, Inosuke and zenitsu were also sent to assist rengoku. Enmu uses his blood demon art to make everyone sleep and kill them while they are sleeping.

But Tanjiro gets out of the dream and fights enmu. Later Enmu combines with the train but still gets killed by tanjiro, with the help of Inosuke, zenitsu, Nezuko and Rengoku Kyojuro.

Kaigaku (New Upper Moon 6)

Kaigaku was the kid who helped a demon to enter himejima’s temple. Later he became the deciple of Jigoro former thunder piller. He trained along side zenitsu in order to become a demon slayer.

He hated zenitsu because he was always crying and was weak. One day unfortunately he comes across uppermoon 1 kokushibo, and realizing that he has no chance he begs kokushibo to spare his life. Kokushibo offers him to become a demon and kaigaku accepts it without a second thought. 

Although Kaigaku was not that strong but he still got the title of uppermoon 6 and became the replacement for Gyutaro. In infinity castle arc he encounter Zenitsu and get easily defeated by him because of inexperience as a demon.

Nakime (New Upper Moon 4)

Nakime first appeared in lower moon meeting, she was the girl playing biwa in the background. She became upper 4 after the death of Hentangu the previous upper 4. Although she is not as strong as hentangu but her blood demon art is really annoying. She was able to keep two hashiras busy for so long but in the end she was killed by muzan himself in the end because of yuishiro taking control of her body. 

Gyutaro & Daki (Upper Moon 6)

Gyutaro and daki were the siblings who shared upper moon 6 rank. They were living in Yoshiwara district. They were strong enough to kill 24 hashiras in total. Although gyutaro was the strength of upper 6 daki was the face. They both were killed by tengen uzui, his wifes, tanjiro, zentitsu, and inosuke in the entertainment district arc. 

Gyokko (Upper Moon 5)

Gyokko was the upper moon 5 and the most creapiest demon in the entire series. He is arrogant and self-obsesed that led to his death. He was sent to swordsmith village along with hentangu to distroy the village. There he encountered mist hashira muichiro tokito. He looked down muichiro saying he was week and he should die with his godly hands. But in the end muichiro decapitated gyokko effortlessly. 

Hentangu (Upper Moon 4)

Hentagu was the upper moon 4 and was the most difficult demon to kill. His abilities were very confusing. Once you cut his head he transforms into two demons and if you cut those two heads he will split into 4 demons all with different powers. If that was not enough he also has an ultimate form combined of all four demons has the enhanced version of each of their power plus his own blood demon art. And that’s also not his main body his main body is as tiny as a mouse and always hides himself. So killing hentangu is very difficult and annoying. But our heros tanjiro, nezuko, and genya with the help of love hashira mitsuri were able to kill upper monn 4.

Akaza (Upper Moon 3)

Akaza the fan favorite demon was the upper moon 3 and was the first upper moon we were introduced to in the series. He first appeared when our heros were celebrating the defeat of lower moon 1 enmu. He tried to kill tanjiro but was stoped by rengoku kyojiro and after a long battle akaza killed rengoku and fled because of sunlight.

In the entire fight it seemed akaza was toying with rengoku that’s how strong akaza was. Later in the story during infinity castle arc akaza faces tanjiro and giyu where he shows his full strength. Akaza was done playing games. His fists flew with lightning speed, delivering bone-shattering blows. Tanjiro and Giyu struggled to keep up as they battled for their lives against the mighty Upper Moon 3.

Giyu and tanjiro were barely holding akaza off. But after a long deadly battle tanjiro beheads akaza thanks to his dad’s memories. But that’s not it akaza still keeps fighting even after being beheaded he was able to regrow his head but then he remembered his past and decided to stop all this. In the end he use his attack on himself and dies. 

Doma (Upper Moon 2) 

Doma the most menacing and crazy demon. He was second strongest uppermoon who loved to eat women as he think they are more nutritious. He first appeared in gyutaro’s backstory as he was the one who turned gyutao and daki to demon.

Then we see him at the uppermoon meeting where he was trolling akaza for being weak. Doma doesn’t feel any emotion which makes him very dangerous.

Doma was also the demon who killed Shinobu’s sister Kanae and inosuke’s mother.

We first see him in action during infinity castle arc where he encounters shinobu. Furious shinobu tries everything in her arsenal to kill doma but he was too strong for her and was killed and consumed by doma. But later he was killed by inosuke, kanao and Shinobu’s poison. 

Kokushibo (Upper Moon 1)

Kokushibo, the strongest upper moon in the series. Kokushibo is way above doma in terms of strength. He was the elder brother of Yourichi, who was the strongest person in the series. Kokushibo’s real name was Michikatsu and he was also a demon slayer and because of jelosy towards his brother he became demon in hope that someday he will surpass yourichi.

We first see him during upper moon meeting where he sliced Akaza’s hand without him noticing. During the final battel Kokushibo sliced the hand of muichiro without breaking a sweat. Later he fought genya and three of the strongest hashiras in the series Muichiro, Sanemi and Gyomie at the same time and was barely got defeat.

Even after his head got decapitated by the slayers he was able to regenerate the head again and was ready to kill the slayer but looking at his new form he lost the will to fight and accepted his defeat.
